Officer Pakenham Mission Area
Spud : Hey Joyce, what’s the Officer Pakenham Mission Area about?
Joyce : Their vision is “Experiencing the love and life of Christ through vibrant and life-changing communities and creative partnerships”
Spud : What does that mean?
Joyce : There are two really great Churches, one in Officer, and the other in Pakenham. They’re full of really great people who love the Lord, and EVERYONE is WELCOME.
The mural at Pakenham says “Our Community : A fabric of different threads woven together in harmony”.
For the church, our mural is a metaphor of hospitality. We are called to love God and love our neighbour as ourselves. Enveloped in the mural is a dove, the Spirit of Peace, the First peoples symbol of the Eagle and various religious symbols representing some of the other faiths in our community. These are woven into the vibrant rainbow coloured rope again depicting “many colours one people” who together comprise our community here in Pakenham.
We worship at 10am each Sunday at Pakenham Uniting Church and 8.45am at Officer Union Church on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month
Messy Church takes place during school holidays
