Sunday 17rd April 2016

“Experiencing the love and life of Christ through vibrant and life changing communities and creative partnerships.”

Sunday’s service was conducted by Nathaniel Atem. We welcome him to our pulpit. Nathaniel was born in South Sudan and was a pastor. Due to the war (1925 – present) moved to Egypt in 2000. God’s plan sent Nathaniel and his family to Australia 2004. He has been studying for the ministry which has taken some time due to the language issues. He moved to Pakenham in 2008 and improved his English. He is awaiting a position in a church but is currently working with Traralgon Uniting Church. Nathaniel spoke on the “good shepherd leading us to eternal life”. He connected this with his early life where he worked with his father as a farmer. He likes the Gospel of John and believes it is the living Christ who asks us to follow him as he is the good shepherd, offering security and hope. We are both the sheep and the shepherds in God’s ministry. Have you been a shepherd to someone?

Glynis told us of today’s Officer service where little dolls for the African Doll Project were given to the co-ordinator of the project to take to South Africa. These have been made by our craft group.

Thank you to all those people who have taken part in this project.

Please note that during Ann’s absence if the need arises contact Martie Harding 0418563682

Pastor Belinda has been conducting Wild Worship once a month on a Saturday and anyone who has not attended with children are missing out on a well-run fun 2 hours. We have had a wonderful time experiencing our second childhood, having a laugh and joining in fellowship. We have used our creativity and then had a shared meal afterwards. Belinda provides many activities and is well prepared. Please consider coming to Saturday 21st May 5.00 – 7.00pm and every 3rd Saturday for the remainder of the year. A great time for children, their parents and grandparents.
