“Experiencing the love and life of Christ through vibrant and life changing communities and creative partnerships.”
Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev. Ann Simons who rushed back from Officer church after a minor car accident. Ann spoke to the children about Jesus crossing the sea. She spoke about boundaries which enclosed people. Jesus had to say to them “we are all together in this”. Jesus loves us all the same even when we are different. We are all made in the image of God. The story in Luke Chapter 8 shows Jesus restoring to health a demonic man and the general population did not like it. Today the belief in demons is confronting. We see this today as depression and we watch a helplessly not knowing what to do. Illnesses such as depression, drug addiction, alcoholism destroy all the members of a family. Luke tells us that Jesus comes with the power to help those afflicted and their connections. Members of the congregation came forward to light candles for those who were on their mind. We are sometimes disoriented but our faith brings us back to God.
Please remember that the church is being used for voting on July 2nd and for pre-voting for the 2 weeks before. If attending the church be mindful of where you can go.
We will be holding a sausage sizzle on Election Day, July 2nd. Information is on the board in the foyer. We will need onions and coleslaw plus people to set up, cook and pull down on the day.
