“Experiencing the love and life of Christ through vibrant and life changing communities and creative partnerships.”
Rev Ann told the story of goldfish on Sunday morning. Her grandchild lost a gold fish and the vet informed that goldfish sometimes eat each other. Take care not to destroy each other particularly at this political time when things are quite confusing and unsettled. Paul advises us to vote with our lives with freedom and inclusiveness. We need to be aware of this every day. Ann recounted a Uniting Church visit to Turkey which traced the church of Galatia. Even with no actual church there the mystery still existed. In Christ Jesus we are included in the neighbourliness and Galatians Ch 5 tells us “to love and serve one another.” What understanding of the love of God do we have and consequently show to others? Our Christian community is founded on the historical event of Jesus.
Please remember that the church is being used for voting on July 2nd and for pre-voting for the 2 weeks before. If attending the church be mindful of where you can go.
Our Election Day sausage sizzle is in being organised. If you have not put your name on the list in the foyer but feel you can contribute time, cooking onions or coleslaw then please assist. We also have a raffle which will support the purchase of our defibrillator so you could sell raffle tickets.
Friendship Group meeting is Wednesday 6th July. Jenny Hunt from the Samaritan’s Purse is the guest speaker. This organisation provides assistance across the world to those in need. One of the projects is Operation Christmas Child where Shoeboxes with goodies for young people are distributed.
Julie Waters is supporting Pastoral Care call her on 0401073685. Julie is keen to start a prayer time to pray for the work and workers in the Officer Pakenham Mission Area. Watch for the time and place or talk to Julie.
Elders required. In the foyer are nomination sheets for Elders. Nominations will be announced Sunday 3rd July. Election will be on July 10th as you enter the church.
Sound / Tech Volunteers needed. If you have any electronic skills or are willing to learn to help set up the church computer and monitors each Sunday we need you. This could be a job for a young person. Can you come and sit with John and Eric to learn the sound system.
Last week an OPMA panel selected the Community Development Worker. Await the details – it’s exciting.
