“Experiencing the love and life of Christ through vibrant and life changing communities and creative partnerships.”
Sunday was Easter Sunday entitled “come to the banquet there’s a place for you”. We had church in the round (tables where people worshipped). The cross was decorated during the service and people gave each other chocolate eggs. Welcome, music and prayers were part of the service. Rev. Ann reviewed the Easter services including Denham’s Lenten studies, Maundy Thursday with the washing of feet and Good Friday with Jesus’ execution. Sunday was the celebration of Jesus resurrection, even though people rejected the news the women brought to the people that Jesus was no longer in the tomb. We came to church to proclaim the resurrection and shout halleluiah. Death was not the end of the story but hope and looking forward to a new day was part of the story. Jesus’ death was the act of humans but Jesus’ resurrection was God’s act.
Belinda (youth pastor) has been conducting Wild Worship once a month on a Saturday and anyone who has not attended with children are missing out on a well-run fun 2 hours. We have had a wonderful time experiencing our second childhood, having a laugh and joining in fellowship. We have used our creativity and then had a shared meal afterwards. Belinda provides many activities and is well prepared. Please consider coming to Saturday 16th April 5.00 – 7.00pm and every 3rd Saturday for the remainder of the year. A great time for children and their parents and grandparents.
Ann’s long service leave. Ann and her grandson Dylan are walking El Camino Trail (Spain) known as the Way of St. James, an ancient pilgrimage route to the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain. Please check the pew sheet for 27th to see the itinerary. Ann’s long service leave begins on April 3rd.
Thank you to Joan Vogels for her work with Faith and Fabric exhibition from Traralgon UC which was inspiring. The exhibition was wonderful and the address during the service was excellent. Thanks also to those who worked quietly behind the scene to make sure the weekend went well.
Working with Children. The Synod of the Uniting Church has ruled that all people who are appointed in roles in the church such Elders, Church Councillors, worship leaders, anyone involved in children’s and youth events, programs or activities, anyone commissioned by Church Council to perform roles in music, bible study, home groups or cell groups. Please get the instruction sheet from Olive or see her and she will help you log in on the church computer.
An analogue TV is looking for a good home. It will need a set top box but is in very good condition. See John Stitt.
